Major Features
- Install whatever you need using apt-get
- Ability to boot from USB drive just by extracting a tar.gz to it (boot PlugBox with a shiny new kernel this way)
- Ability to reflash to factory default by making a reflash USB drive
- Tonido software - Calendar, Shared Files, Shared Photos, User Upload/Download Permissions, Torrent application, Personal Blog
- Firefox extensions to interact with TonidoPlug
- Not connected to an external service (all run from your plug)
- Samba/DLNA/X Box 360 streaming out-of-box
Let-Downs
- Have to forward ports if UPnP doesn't work on your router (port 10001) - or use the Relay service (easiest)
- Not as many marketing dollars as Pogoplug (if that counts)
- No HFS support as standard, unlike pogo
Note
- The GuruPlug JTAG board turns the TonidoPlug into a SheevaPlug (use the SheevaPlug Installer to unbrick or flash an OS to NAND)
